The good news is the summer title by Jeri Theriault, Self-Portrait as Homestead, has done well as Jeri continues with her reading schedule in Maine this autumn. Jeri will be at the Yarmouth Historical Society on September 28th. Visit the book page on this site.
The loss of a poet
The sad news is we’ve lost a friend with the passing of Deborah Cummins. As many already know, she was a poet and champion for literature and the arts. Her kindness, wisdom and good nature will be missed. It came as a surprise to me, as with friends and writers who remember seeing her just a year ago at the Maine Literary Festival.
Her book of poetry, Until They Catch Fire, a fine collection that came out in 2020, is not in stock at the moment at Deerbrook Editions, but the press distributor spdbooks.org has several copies, 40 to be exact, and individuals can order from SPD’s Website here:
